MONTREAL, March 14, 2012 – Yesterday, the Sainte-Justine University Hospital Research Center held its 6th annual ceremony to honor the recipients of studentships from the Foundation of Stars and Sainte-Justine UHC Foundation. In total, 21 Master’s, doctoral and postdoctoral award recipients received funding to support their research work on mother, child and adolescent health.

MONTREAL, Nov. 3, 2011 - This fall, 33,114 students from 42 private schools of Greater Montreal took part in the Défi-Jeunesse 1km pour Sainte-Justine. Together, these elementary and secondary school children covered a combined distance of 153,765 km - more than three times around the globe - and raised $1,113,156 for sick kids, largely surpassing their $750,000 objective.

Dr Carmant’s research focuses on the mechanisms of epileptogenesis, electrophysiology and immunohistochemistry. His current projects are on the trajectories of children with epilepsy and on cognitive outcomes of children with cryptogenic infantile spasms.
