Growing Up Healthy: An outpouring of generosity exceeds expectations
Launched in 2002, the Growing Up Healthy campaign’s goal was to raise $100 million of the $400 million necessary to realize the Sainte-Justine UHC’s project for the future. But $125.4 million were raised through the unprecedented outpouring of generosity from the Québec community towards the children and future mothers who are cared for at Sainte-Justine’s.
Who makes donations? Donations to the campaign came not only from the business community, private foundations and major families in Québec, but from thousands of individuals as well.
Where do donations go? The sod will be turned to launch the Growing Up Healthy construction project in early 2006. New facilities will include:
1.
A second wing for the Centre de cancérologie Charles-Bruneau
2.
Moving the Ronald McDonald Manor behind the Sainte-Justine UHC
3.
Specialized care units and services
4.
A knowledge centre and a research centre.
This will also be an opportunity to build underground parking to serve the clientele and personnel.
