Over 480 curlers and countless supporters of Kurling for Kids enjoyed a day of curling on Saturday, March 31st - and all in the name of fundraising. Kurling for Kids held their annual fundraiser this past weekend and had a record-setting year as $126,000 was raised for the Montreal Children's and Sainte Justine's Hospital Foundations. The fundraiser has now raised over $400,000 by holding an annual curling tournament in Montreal area curling clubs.
All funds raised will be used towards meeting both Hospitals' most urgent needs. Kurling for Kids will be purchasing an Automatic DNA Extractor for the Montreal Children's Hospital and a Cavitron Ultrasonic Aspirator for Sainte Justine's.
This year's event took place at nine Montreal area curling clubs - Town of Mount Royal , Glenmore, Lachine , Saint-Lambert, Pointe Claire , Montreal West, Otterburn Memorial, Baie D’Urfe and Ste Anne’s. To raise funds for the Kurling for Kids tournament, curlers were asked to raise moneyby collecting donations of at least $100. As well many businesses and individuals were very generous with private donations to the cause. Huge thanks go out to all of our major corporate sponsors: NSB, GL&V, Corbec, BBB Foundation, Ernest, Dectron, Acier Ouellette, Teddy's Restaurant, Coldwater, Superior Alloy, Morbern, 3M, James Dawson Enterprises, BDC, ScotiaMcLeod, Advanced Dynamics, Lessard Tremblay, Drillmex 2005, Boutique Jacques, BMA, ETFS, Pro-Direct Industriel, KFS, Lerner Promotions, Imprimerie Aubry, and MR Graphique.
