The second edition of the Grande Party Ferreira is a huge success!!

The second edition of the Grande Party Ferreira to benefit the Sainte-Justine UHC Foundation was held on June 18 in the storied laneway of Ferreira Café, located at 1446 Peel Street in Montreal. Thanks to the participation of 250 lovers of Mediterranean cuisine, this gourmet fundraising barbecue was able to present a generous cheque in the amount of $75,000 to the Foundation. This sum was raised through the various philanthropic initiatives of the 13 years of generosity campaign. Carlos Ferreira, the founder and owner of Ferreira Café, presented this substantial sum to the Sainte-Justine UHC Foundation, in the presence of Ms. Anièle Lecoq, executive director of the Foundation. texttext

A menu worthy of Ferreira Café!
The restaurant’s acclaimed chef, Marino Tavares, regaled his guests with culinary delights, all prepared right on the grill. Patrons enjoyed a real taste of summer as they dined on the freshest fish, the most succulent meats and seafood, and perfectly seasoned game. Over by the bar, bubbly aficionados enjoyed a flute or two of Pommery champagne, while those more partial to Scotch savoured a selection of premium Johnnie Walker whiskies.

Together for a great cause
The stage set with red carpets, white tents, and projection screens, and with spectacular performances by Cirque Éloize and the presence of many celebrities including Annie Dufresne, Ariane Moffat, Florence K, Maxim Lapierre and Guillaume Latendresse, this event brought everyone together for one great cause: the Sainte-Justine UHC Foundation. Carlos Ferreira, a member of the Foundation’s board of directors, is stepping up his restaurant’s fundraising initiatives and hopes to be able to raise $100,000 by December 2009.
