Every year, the Foundation organizes major events, enlisting Québec-wide support for the young patients at Sainte-Justine.
Here’s an overview of annual activities organized by the Foundation:
Le Mois des câlins
During the month of February, the hosts of Rythme FM radio station invite listeners to give the kids at Sainte-Justine a hug by participating in fundraising activities, including a virtual hug chain and a Clarins beauty promotion held in Jean-Coutu pharmacies across Québec.

Cachou Invitational Golf Tournament
At the end of May, many leading figures from the business community take part in the Cachou Invitational Golf Tournament to raise funds for Sainte-Justine UHC Foundation. The event, which has been held at Club Laval-sur-le-Lac for more than 20 years, has raised a total of $5.5 million for sick children.
The Corus Québec Radiothon
For the fifth Radiothon, held November 13, 2008, seven radio stations belonging to the Corus group teamed up to support the children at Sainte-Justine. Broadcasting live from the hospital lobby, the radio hosts got thousands of listeners to dig into their pockets after listening to touching individual stories. By the end of the emotional day, the Radiothon had raised an impressive $772,053. (Visit the website)
Le Grand sapin de Sainte-Justine
With the help of Rythme FM and the makers of Les jeux Mont-à-Mots, the first Sainte-Justine Christmas tree event was a huge success. From December 1 to 18, 2008, the public answered the call to light up the 30,000 lights on the big tree in front of the hospital. The $176,621 raised was used to help families severely affected by the illness of a child and to address urgent equipment needs at Sainte-Justine UHC.

Young Leaders Circle
Every year, the Young Leaders Circle committee organizes three fundraising events to help children and mothers-to-be at Sainte-Justine. For the next three years, the committee will be focusing on perinatal healthcare.
The Mont-Royal Ball
Some 1,000 young professionals attended the 7th Annual Mont-Royal Ball on April 3, 2009. The unique event raised $80,000, to be put toward two priority projects in perinatal healthcare. (Visit the website)
Winter Triathlon
On February 6, 2009, at Parc Maisonneuve, 70 teams from the business, sports and entertainment communities faced off in a friendly skating, running and skiing competition. The Triathlon raised a record amount of $256,000—much more than expected! This year’s new “Pierre Boivin challenge” was enormously successful. (Visit the website)
Lighting the way
On September 4, 2008, at the second annual Lighting the way event, 800 children and parents got to see the Biodôme ecosystems by moonlight! The event raised $105,000, which was used to buy a new mobile incubator for premature babies in distress across Québec.
